Weekly Relationship tip: My spouse and I see & do things differently

Weekly Relationship TipWhen your relationship is new it’s easy to accept that your spouse is different than you are because every thing different seems wonderful.  Fast forward to conflict where their thoughts and choices just don’t make any sense to us!  What then?

Here are some tips for finding acceptance in your relationship:

1.  Recognize that no two people share the same brain.

2.  Listen to what your partner has to say- you don’t have to agree to really listen

3.  Try to understand why they look at things the way they do based on THEIR present and past experiences

4.  Look for any possible positive aspect to their perception.

Acceptance is critical in any relationship.  If you do the work on truly accepting and being accepted you’ll find far more positive feelings for one another.
